Day App

Privacy

Day App holds your daily plan and nothing it does not need. No ads, no tracking, no selling data.

What we keep

We use no advertising tools and never use health, religion, politics or similar personal details to suggest anything. The app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports (see below), which you can turn off.

Usage counts and crash reports

To fix crashes and see which features are used, the app sends anonymous reports through Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: counts such as "a task was completed" or "a day was closed out", the card type involved, how you signed in (Google or email link), and, when the app crashes, where in the code it happened and basic device details (model, system version, free memory). Google works out an approximate location (country or region) from the connection.

These reports never include your cards, what they say, your email address, or anything your assistants write, and they are not linked to your account. We do not use an advertising identifier, do not track you across apps, and do not use this data for advertising.

The setting is on when you install the app. Turn it off at any time in You → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage and crash reports"; the app then stops sending, deletes reports not yet sent and resets its anonymous identifier. Usage data is kept for two months, crash reports for 90 days.

Visits to this website

On dayapp.co.uk (the home, support and privacy pages) we count visits with Google Analytics: which pages are opened, how people arrived (for example a search or a link), how long they stayed and which links or buttons they pressed. It is never used for advertising, and the sign-in pages are not counted. Visitors in the EEA and Switzerland are counted without a cookie. You can stop it on this browser at any time:

Where it is kept

Accounts and boards are stored with Google Firebase in London. Anonymous usage counts and crash reports are processed by Google Firebase, which may handle them outside the UK. Our service runs on a server in Germany (Hetzner). Your phone keeps a copy of today's board so it works offline.

Your assistants

When you connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant, it can read and change your board within the permissions you gave it. You connect one by signing in on dayapp.co.uk/connect with the same account as the app and pressing Allow. What you say in those conversations is handled under that assistant's own privacy policy. You can disconnect an assistant at any time in the app; it loses access at once.

Reading feeds

The feeds you choose are stored with your settings; our server fetches the public feeds, and opening an article loads the publisher's site. If you turn on pictures in feeds, your phone loads them directly from the publisher, which sees your device's internet address, as when you open an article.

Notifications

We only notify you about reminders you or your assistant set for a time you chose, and prompts you turned on — never to bring you back to the app. Your phone schedules reminders itself; if it has not (for example a reminder added from a chat while the app was closed), our server sends it through Apple's or Google's notification service, with only the reminder's title and note. Assistants can suggest that a reminder repeats, but only you can turn a repeat on. "Add to calendar" hands the event to your phone's calendar app; we never read or write your calendar.

Your choices

In the app you can export everything we hold about you, and delete your account. Deleting removes your boards, settings, connections, activity and sign-in account straight away and disconnects every assistant. We keep no backups of your data. Questions: hello@dayapp.co.uk.
